City inbetween gardens
On our roadtrip we made stop at the Speewah Campgrounds near Kuranda Village to discover Cairns and sourroundings. Most suitable, the rainforest area greeted us with... rain. Prepping the tent with some waterproof tarp, the rain did not bother us too much.Chuck the chicken made the entertainment program at the campgorund complete and dutifully woke us everyday at 5am in the morning.
During our stay we strolled through Cairns Botanical Gardens, indulged ourselves in souvenirs at Kurunda Village Markets and spotted some hidden pathways leading us to secret waterfalls.
Although I didn't like the city of Cairns as such, it's Botanical Gardes are the most impressive ones I have ever seen and well worth a visit. Kuranda with its Rainforest Village charme and a hippie vibe was really enjoyable.
